UA General Membership Meeting And Fly-In

WHO: Unusual Attitudes and Van Nuys Airport Prop Park

WHAT: INVITATION to the Van Nuys Airport Prop Park Fly-In, Display Day, and UA General Membership Meeting

WHEN: September 15th, 10am: General Membership Meeting starts (although the fly-in is a 3 day event, the 14th,15th, and 16th)

WHERE: KVNY, at the Van Nuys Airport Prop Park

DETAILS: It has taken a year or so to work this out. But the Board is happy to announce that we will make the Prop Park at KVNY the *home* for Unusual Attitudes. What does this mean? It means we will have a meeting place, so on a regular basis we can gather at an airport with a well-equipped and comfortable pilot lounge. We will have access to a conference room, and/or a hangar for larger gatherings, e.g. our Holiday Party.

THE GOAL: We are seeking to reinvigorate and expand our membership, so we gather together more often, fly more often, and bring in more women and younger aviation enthusiasts and pilots, mechanics etc. We will be sharing ideas for activities for the near future at the General Membership Meeting, so if you have any to share, please do when you attend.

AIRPLANE OWNERS: If you have access to or own an airplane, we would love for you to fly in (free tie down) and display your plane in the Unusual Attitudes area at the Van Nuys Airport Prop Park Fly-In. We’ll hang out and meet the community after our General Membership Meeting. (We promise that won’t be too long!)

The Prop Park is really happy to welcome us as a part of the General Aviation community there. We do NOT have a dedicated room for ourselves, and that is not the immediate goal. However we will establish consistent times where we as UA can book the facilities for our use.

Benefits recap:
* Free tie down at the Prop Park for pilots flying in to KVNY for the day. $10/per night if you are staying overnight. (This is for our sister/brother organizations as well.)
* Pilot Lounge, well equipped with Wi-Fi and computers
* Conference room to hold meetings and other activities
* Camping and picnic areas for other group events
* Self-Serve Fuel Pump (cheaper than Signature Fuel trucks, which are also available)

We want you to attend our General Membership Meeting and hang out on Saturday. But also look at the flyer and see that the Van Nuys Airport Prop Park Fly-In is a 3-day event, with aviation celebrities attending, movies being shown, plus FREE FOOD the whole weekend long. If you want to fly in and camp under your plane we can arrange that for you. Just let Kareem know.
